Shanta Das Manandhar

Child litterateur Shanta Das Manandhar was born in 1991 B.S. He is an outspoken Speaker, independent and sweet talker. He has a promising enthusiasm  in writing , translating  and publishing of child literature.

He was a student of the first batch of Bachelor level in Tribhuvan University. He is conversant with the languages like Newari, Nepali, English and Hindi.

He always tries to glue himself in literature along with in social service. "Man must be grateful, and literature must be based on welfare of humankind straight from the sanctified heart" - He is believer of this doctrine.

He has associated his most of the time either in academic sector or in child literature. He started his teaching career in 2013 B.S as a painting teacher. Afterward he remained as a headmaster in Balsewa Madhayamik Bidhyalaya, Jhonchhe from 2017 to 2025 B.S. From the year 2022 to 2033, he was a secretary for Nepal-China Maitri Sangh and later became a chairperson of the library. He was also the founder of Bidhodaya Primary School and also became the chairperson of executive board from2047B.S.

He has traveled in many countries like India, Pakistan, China during the year 1964 to 1965.
His original published books are Marubhumi Ek Rajya, 2020 (story collection), Basibianlo, 2037(essay collectio), Kathakosheli-1, 2049 (child poem collection), Pariko Katha, 2058 (essay collection with pictures), Char Dala Nak (child story with pictures). All these books are published by Balkosheli Publication.

Apart this, he has also translated and collected many books like Sahityama Lu Chun ka Bicharharu, 2022 {essay}, Kathakosheli- 2, 2050 {child story collection}, Gulliver ko Liliput  Yatra, 2052 {child novel} and Hiun Ki Rani, 2058 {fairy tale} etc.
He has also published and edited few books. Some of them are Jamuniko chhoro, 2041 {child poem collection}, Kamila ko Katha, 2048 {child novel}, 'Maanchhe, Bachcha, Balak, ma!', 2049 {child poem}, Garera Heraun, Rupa Manandhar, 2054 {child science}, Putali ko Katha-2, Khagendra Sangraula, 2059 {child story collection} etc.
He has also published some magazines like NavaAlok2036, Balposh2036, Balkosheli, 2039, Machakyab2051 {newari}.

His contribution on Children Literature helped him achieve some prestigious awards. He has been honored by Nepal Child Literature Society in 2049 B.S for his writing on Child Literature. He was honored with Kavitaram Bal Sahitya Prabardha Samitee in 2054 by Bal Manch Nepal and also honored with Hridayachandra Smriti Samman Patra in 2057 by Sahitya Sadan Nepal.

In this way he has his unforgettable contribution to child literature. We have to learn much from him.
